Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 16, 2026

Who we are

The Looplet (thelooplet.com) is a technology blog publishing articles on software engineering, AI, security, and related topics. This policy explains what data we collect when you visit, why, and what your choices are.

What we collect

  • Basic analytics. When you view a page we record the page visited, the time, your browser's user agent, and an approximate country derived from your IP address. To count unique readers we store a pseudonymous identifier (a one-way hash derived from your IP address and user agent) — not your raw IP address.
  • Local preferences. Your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device.
  • Contact messages. If you contact us, we receive the details you choose to send (such as your email address and message).

We do not require accounts, and we do not collect names, precise locations, or any special categories of personal data.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in Google's advertising policies. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or via aboutads.info.

Infrastructure providers

Our site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes visitor traffic (including IP addresses) to provide CDN, caching, and security services. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.

How we use data

Analytics data is used only to understand which articles readers find useful and to keep the site reliable and secure. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers described above.

Retention

Aggregated view statistics are retained indefinitely. Pseudonymous unique-view identifiers are used for de-duplication and are not linked back to individuals. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to respond.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. Because our analytics are pseudonymous, we may not be able to identify your data from your name alone — but contact us and we will do what we can. Email admin@thelooplet.com.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above.
